RECREATION & ATTRACTIONS

Fun for All Seasons
Lakes, wooded hills and coulees add variety to this land that has become one of the richest agricultural regions in the world. Its grasslands, river valleys and forests have been home for millennia to aboriginal people, the Plains Ojibwa, Assiniboine and Plains Cree, and provided sustenance for buffalo hunters, fur traders and homesteading pioneers. Each spring and fall its skies, grasslands and marshes come alive with the sounds and sights of migrating flocks of birds.

It's a place of many dimensions, and living in the Yellowhead region provides a wealth of recreation and leisure facilities and amenities to ensure an outstanding quality of life.

The region's municipalities maintain an array of sports fields, parks, hockey/skating arenas, curling arenas, outdoor swimming pools, cross-country ski trails, theatres and more.
